AMC to PCIe adaptor for K2E EVM

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMDXEVMPCI

Dear whom may it concern,

We bought a K2E EVM and we want to connect it with a PC using PCIe.

I found that AMC to PCIe adpator, TMDXEVMPCI, from einfochips is only compatible for Keystone 1 EVM.

Is there any way to connect a K2E EVM with a PC thorough PCIe? It is just test purpose, so the EVM don't need to put in a PC. We can use a PCIe cable adaptor for test purpose.

 Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Jaehyun Park

  • Hi Jaehyun Park,
Yes. Your understanding is correct. The AMC to PCIe adapter (TMDXEVMPCI) is only compatible(and validated) for Keystone 1 EVM not for K2X EVM's.

The TMDXEVMPCI and K2X can not be used together because of the coolant fan placement in K2X evm's. I will check with factory team for existing solution otherwise you can make your own PCIe adapter to interface PCie of PC with EVM.

    Thank you.
  • Dear Raja,

    Thanks for your reply.

We are making a custom board from K2E EVM, so we want to check the operation of the software using PCIe connection with K2E EVM. Is it possible to connect K2E EVM with TMDXEVMPCI if we remove the coolant fan? I know that it will damage the K2E EVM, but we want to know that the physical dimension of TMDXEVMPCI allows to connect K2E EVM without the coolant fan.

    Thanks,

    Regards,
    Jaehyun
  • Hi,

I am not sure the TMDXEVMPCI allows to connect with K2E EVM without the coolant fan.
