Recommended to update xcdtools?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2650

Hy,

I am in the middle of a development of a CC2650 based prototype. When starting my CCS today, I got a message about upgrading xdctools.

Do you generally recommend to use every available update? Is there a way to step back to the previous version when I notice negative side-effects? Is there a version history where I can see the changes to the current version?

And, now that cancelled the installation, how can I trigger the update again? When I use "Help -> Check for updates" CCS won't find any updates

Thanks and best regards

Harald

  • Hi Harald,

What version of CCS are you using?

Each version of XDCtools has release notes in the top directory. There's a "What's New" that lists new features and bug fixes.

You can roll back to different versions of XDCtools. You can select different versions via Project Properities->General->RTSC->XDCtools version drop-down.

If you go to Window->Preferences->Code Composer Studio->RTSC->Products in CCS, you can rescan:

  • Hy Todd,

thanks for the quick and perfect response!

    I Use CCS 6.1.0.00104

Apparently the current versions of xcdtools were installed on my PC already, when this message showed up. Although I have not installed the updates when I was asked for they seem to be on my PC:

I usually have two instances of CCS open, might that be an issue?

That should be fine given that both are not trying to use the same emulator.
