CCS6.1 fails when compiling OMAP4460 C64x example project

Created new project:

Target: OMAP4460

Tab: C64XX

Compiler version: TI v7.4.14

Output type: Executable

Output format: eabi (ELF)

Device endianness: little

Linker command file: <none>

Runtime support library: <automatic>

Project templates and examples: TI-RTOS for C6000/Kernel Examples/Minimal

XDCtools version: 3.31.0.24_core

Products and Repositories: TI-RTOS for C6000 2.0.1.23

Target: ti.targets.elf.C64T

Platform: sdp4430 (the closest I could find)

Build-profile: release

I immediately try to build the project, and get the error "can't find the library 'lib/ti.targets.rts6000.ae64T' specified by package ti.targets.rts6000"

Can someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong?

We do not support 64T in TI-RTOS. We just support (from the release notes)

ti.targets.elf.C66
ti.targets.elf.C66_big_endian
ti.targets.elf.C674

You can use SYS/BIOS instead to get the kernel support for 64T. Here is the download page: http://software-dl.ti.com/dsps/dsps_public_sw/sdo_sb/targetcontent/bios/sysbios/index.html

Note I: TI-RTOS is a superset of SYS/BIOS.

Note II: We debated on whether or not to include 64T in TI-RTOS or not. It really came down to installer size. It was getting too big, so since TI-RTOS was "new" (not really new...just a new packaging of existing products), we decided to focus on the newer devices for TI-RTOS.

Thank you Todd. I am now able to compile and get an .out file.

But, I would like to be able to generate a .xe64T firmware image that can be loaded in Linux. Unfortunately I have not been able to find out much about .xe64T or how to build it -- can you point me in the right direction?
