TMS320DM368 encoding smoothness problem at 1080p input

We are using TMS320DM368 for our USB video capture box. When encoding at 1080p input. the frame rate only have 25-26 fps. And the video screen is not smooth (seems 2-3 fps missing between 2 frame) during some high bitrate screen. We tried many ways but still cannot solve it. Please help

Since DM368 performance is not enough.

    Hi,

    What is the bitrate you are using? If it is too high then drop in fps performance is expected. Please check the datasheet  for bitrate we used to measure the performance.

    Also send complete parameter settings

    Thank you for your reply!

    The following is the parameter setting:

    Video bit rate is 4Mbps to 24Mbps

    input: 1080p60

    Encoding mode: CBR or VBR

    Audio bit rate: 128kbps

    Audio Sampling rate: 48Khz

    Actually we tried all parameter but the performance problem is still the same. Please advise if you have any suggestion.

    Hi Steve,

    24MBPS is too much to handle, if you are seeing performance drop at this bitrate  then it is expected. If you are seeing performance drop at 4 mbps, thats not expected. 

    You didnt share the complete parameters, I am interested to know the params which can affect performance, like encQuality, enableDDRbuf, etc.

    Can you also share the generated bitstream?
