K2L and FFTC performance

Hello All,

K2L (66AK2L06) contains FFT coprocessor. I know this is very dedicated coprocessor which operates with 16-bit data only. Could you estimate performance of FFTC vs. SW solution on C66** core?

Hello,

For exact numbers you'd better refer specific data manual. A colleague of mine is working on similar topic. In his estimations FFTc on C6670 outperforms SP function of DSPLIB in tens times. Please do not regard this estimation to be precise, as that estimation does not account for possible cache issues and extra setup times. You know, setting up peripherals in Keystones is a pain. I hope that might be easier after one get used to it, but anyway FFTc is one of peripherals worth using.
