DM6467 1080i Encode

Does TI plan to offer an encoder that can do 1080i60? Can we do it on DM6467 or do we need DM6467T? I think H.264 would be preferable but if MPEG-4 can get there on DM6467 then perhaps that would be interesting too. I've searched for quite a bit of time and see some conflicting info. Can someone please clearly state what's available now and what will be available in the near future?

Looks like 1080i codecs are not available from TI. I've discovered 3rd party options from both Sasken and Ittiam.

Brad,

The HD encoder available on DM6467 and DM6467T support 1080i60 input and can be used. It doesnot support all the HP/MP tools as a limitations. Refer the datasheet at the external download link.

Asheesh,

Please specify exactly which codec and which version you are referring to. I looked before I asked the question and I looked again now and do not see what you are talking about. Please paste a snippet from the datasheet.

Brad,

Yes, the H264 1080p30 datasheet doesnot mention suppport of Interlace content. I will get back to you.

Hi,

We do not have a TI encoder on DM6467 that does 1080i60 encode. Of course, the DM6467T HW is capable of encoding interlace content, but we have not developed the codec SW. The TI encoder can do 1080p30 on DM6467.
