TMS320C6655CZHA Heatsink

Hi Team,

Is the TMS320C6655CZHA heat spreader which is on the top of the device connected to DGND in any way, or is it just contacting the surface of the device?

Our customer wants to design a large heatsink and would like to make sure that there would be no issues.

Hello Nabeel,

The heatsink would not be connected to DGND anyway. It would just sit on top of the SoC and dissipate the heat from SoC.

The heatsink size may be decided based on the thermal analysis. Do the customer performed thermal analysis ? I would suggest you have the customer contact their PCB house or their fabricator for a heatsink recommendation.
