How to disable the HDMI function in DVR RDK 8168?

Hi Balaji,

Do you have the HDMI module built in the linux kernel or you have it as a loadable module ti81xxhdmi.ko? You can check this with typing #lsmod when you boot up your board.

If you have it as a module, find and remove the insertion of this module.

    Load on-chip HDMI module :

insmod ti81xxhdmi.ko

I am using EZSDK, and this HDMI module is inserted from a script in the rootfs:

rootfs/etc/init.d/load-hd-firmware.sh

modprobe ti81xxhdmi

When I remove this line, I do not have the HDMI module inserted.

You can also remove/delete it from rootfs/lib/modules/2.6.37/kernel/drivers/video/ti81xx/ti81xxhdmi/ti81xxhdmi.ko

I got it. we can disable from load.sh. I have a question that disable HDMI function when compilation done by rules.make. if eliminate by Rules.make, that will be easy for me to download on the DVR RDK 8168.

One more question that dvr_rdk_fw_m3video_1024m_256M.xe3 and dvr_rdk_fw_m3vpss_1024m_256M.xe3. what is the use of these file?

I bought BlackHawk USB560v2 system trace emulator and using free version linux code composer studio. Software, not able to communicate with emulator. I think we have to buy CCS from TI. Is it correct?
