Can the TMS320C5505 or TMS320C5515 or TMS320C5517 can meet my application requirements ?

Hello Support/Fellow Engineers,

I am new to this forum and wish to use the TMS320C5505 with a stereo CODEC sampling 2 channels/Stereo 96kHz sampling 24 bit, (ie 768kBytes/s 32bit) writing data as a wav file an SD card using the SD/MMC-4bit SDIO port using a FAT File system. I expect I will also use the external memory either via the EBI i/f to SDRAM or Async SRAM for buffering whilst writing to the SD card 50MHz.

Please confirm if this part can perform this task or recommend an alternative.

Hi,

C55xx does supports I2S Stereo, 24 bit word length with various sampling frequencies.The transfer can be accomplished through DMA ( DMA is supported).The Audio data to be transfered to Internal memories and then to SD / MMC card as both these protocol are supported.

Yes you could also use external memory interface to transfer data to external memories.

Suggest you to opt for newer devices - C5515 or C5517.

For more information on these devices & functionality, refer to respective C55xx datasheet / TRM .

Do you have any example code for such a running application. I have a MSP430 with the Audio Capacitive touch booster pack and it can play and record from and SD card...where may I find this code?
