Java on DM6446

Hi Champs

I have a customer asking for a Java VM on DM6446. I found this post (http://e2e.ti.com/support/dsp/davinci_digital_media_processors/dm64x/int-dm64x/f/105/p/9994/39889.aspx#39889) but there were no replies to it. Do we have Java support on DM6446 (out of the box with MV Linux distribution) or is there a third party providing it?

Thanks,

Niko

  • Niko,

MicroDoc does offer Java VMs. I met them a few times and they seem to be reasonable but I have no project experience with them. Should we worth a call and asking them.

  • Hi Niko,

I know this post is a year old.  We have only recently joined your community.

Aicas provides a Java toolchain and runtime for ARM processors, JamaicaVM.  It will run on Linux and should run on your distribution.

I'm not familiar with MV, but our VM depends on the glibc so is pretty much independent of the different distributions.

Our toolchain also includes an ahead-of-time compiler which will generate ARM 9 instructions directly from Java code.

Also, our platform offers hard real-time, and multicore performance with our hard real-time, parallel and concurrent garbage collector.

Please feel free to contact us about any inquires about Java support in the future.

    Thanks,
