powering beaglebone black development board

Hey

I've tried powering a beagle bone black development board using a 5V regulated supply. However ,the board does not seem to be responding( the power leds don't glow).

For the power line i've used lithium ion batteries in series with a tps61232 IC from texas instruments. Can anybody give me a reason for this ?

yes, and it works. the development board is functional. But i need to power it using a solar regulated input .

I would recommend that you check whether there isn't an initial voltage drop when you connect your custom power supply.

yeah, there was a voltage drop. but the power led's weren't lighting up. Do you have any other suggestions i could try out? Could it be a problem with the current input? the tps has a max rating of 2A.

There is an initial current surge. You can check this with a scope across a serial resistor (value should be in the 0.05 Ohm range).
