Hello

We are currently looking to develop a product that would need to run Android on it or/and Android Wear.

We are currently considering an OMAP350 but I am a bit confused about if this chipset is still existing or if it got replaced already and would be a good option for our device (which is a wearable device so power consumption and size spacing cared).

Does anyone can indicate any information about this ?

hi,
I am talking about technical, and not only commercial as I also query about guidance about choice of chipset for our product.
I want to know if :
1./ OMAP350 is on the EOL way or still planned to be produced for years
2./ Does OMAP350 is a good choice for a wearable device ? I see an OMAP3 is used in the Moto360 according to my readuing but I am unsure if it is an OMAP350

This forum supports the Sitara processor family. OMAP processors are not supported here.

Oh i didn't see this.
I have tried now to go to the support forum of OMAP but when i try to post it tells me I don't have access to do so ?!!! Any idea why ?

From a hardware perspective, you would certainly choose DM3730 instead of OMAP3530. The OMAP3530 was a 65nm part, while the DM3730 was a 45nm version. You get better performance, lower power, as well as a few bug fixes in a pin-compatible package.

From a software perspective, the DM3730 is no longer being actively supported. I think the most recent kernel was a 2.6.37 kernel which is basically the end of the road in terms of official TI software releases for that device.

What features do you find most attractive of this device? I may have some alternatives depending on what specifically you're looking for (e.g. is it specific peripherals, specific power budget, ARM+DSP capability, PoP memory, etc.).

From marketing perspective, the device is in production and we do not see any supply issues.
