Alternative for TPS544C25

Hi,
I am developing a custom board based on 66AK2E05. I saw certain threads which mention that TPS544C25 converter (used in EVM K2E) used to power the processor is not yet production released. Please suggest an alternative for TPS544C25.

Hi Senthil,
I have already gone through these threads but they do not mention about a substitute for TPS544C25.

One of the threads say about TPS544C20 which is not functionally same. Did anyone proceed their design with TPS544C20? Since their pin functions except 3 are same, is it possible to go ahead with TPS544C20 and change to TPS544C25 when it is released?

We do not recommend you to use TPS544C20 as it is not functionally identical to the TPS544C25.

We do not have such information.

The TPS544C24 is being replaced by the TPS544C25. The TPS544C25 will be sampling in 1Q15. Please contact your TSR or FAE to get the pre-release datasheet. Samples of the TPS544C24 can be requested and used for prototyping. The TPS544C24 and TPS544C25 are functionally identical.

Hi Sreejaya,

We don't have a reference design using the TPS544C20. For more details concerning the differences between the TPS544C25 and the TPS544C20 you will have to post your question directly to the power supply forum supporting those parts. If you need to proceed with a design, you can use one of the other options described in the KeyStone II Hardware Design Guide. Designs using the LM10011 can be used with a variety of TPS parts to provide an analog switcher approach to the AVS supply. In addition the UCD92XX series of digital controllers can be used as well.

I just wanted to send a quick update. The TPS544C25 will be released to the market this week. The data manual will be active on TI.com by Friday.

Thank you for the inputs.

I was going through Keystone hardware design guide to see the possibility of UCD9222 with UCD7242(20A with outputs tied) .In one of the threads there was discussion about UCD9222 with UCD74111(15A).

Thanks for the update that TPS544C25 will be released this week.Will wait for the same.
