HI, i really screwed up and i need some help. I have a cctv standalone dvr unit ( ITXs ANF1648) that will no longer boot. I accidently loaded the wrong uimage .bin file using the loadb command from inside the uboot environment. the unit WILL power on, the lights on the front panel will flash on then stay off and there is no output via the serial console. ive tried factory reset but its not responding to commands via console, front panel or remote control. im guessing that the only way to recover from this is via the JTAG interface. if im wrong pls correct me.

i forgot to add that i had burned uImage to 0xa0000 then rebooted the board and now it wont boot

Hi,
Try to restore the board.
Set bootmode to UART and check whether you are getting "BOOTME" message from UART or not.
If you able get "BOOTME" message, then you can flash bootloaders (UBL,u-boot) to the board and you would get u-boot shell.

ok how do i set bootmode to uart? this board has no dip switches

ok i read through the user manual and it talks about setting boot mode to uart. however that only applies to boards that have dip switches. but i says nothing about how to do it on boards without dip switches

Hi,
Are you using custom board ?
Could you please ask your hw people to check how boot mode settings kept on your board.

no im not using a custom board, well actually im not sure if its a custom board. it the main board inside my standalone cctv dvr unit. its made by a company in korea called "Intellix Security or ITXS" however, they wont connect me to their research and development personnel. they arent very helpful

Ohh, okay, I'll try my level best.
Able to get u-boot shell or nothing display in UART ?
In that board, any debug UART port is available ?

as of right now, i get no output from the rs232 port or from the display output. it does have a 20pin header on the board labeled "J33" which i believe might be for jtag ?? correct me if im wrong. Also, just to clarify, the processor is labeled "davinci tms320 dm6467tzutL1 $n30-9aaLesw"

i have read through all the links that you provided and none of them mention anything about boards without dip switches....

Hi,
I don't have a board like this but I have DM6467T and DM6467HD EVM boards with all required DIP switch settings.
Do you have schematics for this board ?
If yes, you can look into that and see how they mapped BOOT SETTINGS (SYSBOOT) for this board.
If no, try to find out.

i dont have schematics of this board, but i will email the dvr manufacturer and see if they will help. they are in korea and they havent been very helpful in the past

they arent gonna give up the schematics. there isnt anything in it for them. i emailed 3 different people and they all gave the same answer, "sorry we can not help you with that" so now what do i do?

Sorry we are helpless.
We can do support for our boards and can't custom boards where even we don't have schematics.
You have to tell how can I help further.

Hi,
Check out top of the board, any markings present ?
We have to check like that, if not able to see then how did you get this board ?
Ask them who given this board to you.

Sorry to say, we can't support further since this board is neither not developed not released by us.

HI,
I meant that we didn't develop the board that you have so, we could not support.
It is very difficult to support when you don't have schematics/user manual , SWICTH settings etc.,

by looking at the pictures, can you tell me if that is a j-tag header on the board. if it is, what hardware would i need in order to connect to the board.

since there are no dip switches on the board, i would guess that the way to change the boot mode would be thru JTAG..... correct??`

Hello again, its been a while and im still trying to fix this issue. as previously stated, im trying to identify the jtag header on this board. i believe it is the 20 pin that i have marked in one of the pictures posted earlier in this thread. If so, how do i know which version of jtag header it is? is it an (ARM 20-pin) or a ( TI 20-pin). i would like to purchase a debug probe, but im not sure which one will be suffecient for flashing the uboot.img file back onto the board. please help

Hi, i know its been a while but i am making progress with my troublesome board. you asked if i can get "BOOTME" from the uart output, and now i can. i have it connected via the rs232 port and ive got it showing BOOTME. what do i do from here ???

HI, i just received this from the mfg...... although im not exactly sure what it means. can you explain this to me ?

RNS39 = 1k, RNS40 = n.a. --> BTMODE[3:0] = 0111 (NAND boot)
RNS39 = n.a., RNS40 = 1k --> BTMODE[3:0] = 0000 (emulation boot)
