Ball Reset Rel. State and Mode

I'm using an AM4378. If I wanted to use ball N23 or T24 as a gpio, will the PU ever be temporarily disabled as it switches from the ball reset rel. mode to Mode7 or will the ball be outputting a high voltage from the very beginning of the boot process till after it changes from Mode0 to Mode7? I'm asking this because I have a particular signal for one of my components that needs to stay high at all times during bootup and can only drop voltage after a certain amount of time, so if the PU ever gets disabled that would be bad.

Hi Trent,

See Table 4-10. Pin Attributes (ZDN Package) in AM4378 Data Manaual. Both Ball Reset State & Ball Reset Release State for both N23 & T24 balls is PU, see bellow:

Yes, I know the Reset and Rel. Reset States are PU. I wanted to know if that PU will always be active even if I switch to mode7 with PU enabled. In other words,does the PU momentarily deactivate when switching modes, or does it stay active as long as the mode your switching to has the PU enabled?

Hi Trent,

There is no such effect. If you don't manipulate the pull resistor bits the resistor will stay connected to the IO pad.
