Using CCSv5.1 License with XDS560v2

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320C6670

We have been experiencing some license issues with CCSv5.1 we hope you can help us solve them.

We have recently purchased the TMS320C6670 Evaluation Module with the XDS560v2 Emulator. The DSP arrived with CCSv5.1 and a licence file, unfortunately when we try to load the C6670 configuration we receive a “license cannot be acquired” error, saying  that our license is only for XDS100 and not for XDS560.

According to TI’s licensing wiki  the bundle license included with the DSP should work with the XDS560v2 card available in C6000 multi-core EVM bundles: http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Licensing_-_CCS#License_Types .

Could there be something wrong with our license file?

Thank you,

Eyal

  • Hi,

Have you referred any TI documents/links to connect the Emulator? Have you test the EVM with XDS100 emulator? EVM have two emulators on-board XDS100 and mezzanine card XDS560, for XDS100 testing remove mezzanine card from EVM. For more information refer EVM technical reference manual.

    Refer keystone lab manual guide:

    www.ti.com/.../sprp820.pdf

Please download the latest MCSDK for Keystone I devices(C6657/70/78) and the follow user guide here.

    Thanks,

  • Eyal,

Have you installed BIOS-MCSDK 2.x for application development? What is your host environment? Is it windows or Linux?

    Suggestion:

Please find the target configuration file from below path(After installing MCSDK) to connect with DSP core. Please find the latest MCSDK download and user guide link below my signature.

    PATH: ..:\ti\mcsdk_2_0x_0x_0x\tools\program_evm\configs\evm6670l

    Windows Host:

    evm6670l  - XDS100

    evm6670le - XDS560

    Linux Host:

    evm6670le-linuxhost - XDS560

    evm6670l-linuxhost - XDS100

    Note:

I am checking wih CCS experts for license issue.  Thank you for your patience.

  • Hi Raja,

I installed BIOS-MCSDK and my host environment is Windows.

The test connection to the DSP under the configuration seems to work fine, the only issue is with the licensing as described.

    Thank you,

    Eyal

  • Hi Eyal,
Thank you for the confirmation. I have already pinged CCS experts to look into the issue.
  • Eyal - Are you using the connection type for the mezzanine emulator? That is the only one that will work with the bundled license:

    Thanks

    ki

  • I was using the Trace Emulator, Mezzanine Emulator work.

    Thank you
