Is the filesystem in SDK 1.00.00.00 minimalfs or does it have a GUI desktop

I have been working on minimal fs for all my bringup and using the SDK for the first time. I would like to know if the file system is minimal commandline based file system. I would like to create a filesystem that starts up and flashes itself to the blank emmc on the board.

Hi Preetam,

If you check ~/ti-processor-sdk-linux-am437x-evm-01.00.00.00/filesystem folder of SDK1.00.00.00 you wil see that there are two prebuilt filesystem images that you can use:
arago-base-tisdk-image-am437x-evm.tar.gz --> This is the minimal rootfs
tisdk-rootfs-image-am437x-evm.tar.gz --> This is the complete rootfs wit GUI desktop

If you use the create-sdcard.sh script to partition & create bootable sd card with the prebuilt images of the SDK, you will have the rootfs with GUI desktop.

Note that in the filesystem folder you also have prebuilt ubi images of the filesystem.

How do I partition and flash the mmc? I dont have nand and I am booting through uart. So how do I fprmat and partition the emmc.

Can I do it from u-boot or do I need to create an initramfs from the filesystem.
