Loading and Running Linux kernel and rootfs from NAND

Hi Sir/Madam

I am using In MCSDK 3_01_03_06,

In the document: http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/MCSDK_UG_Chapter_Exploring#Loading_and_Running_Linux_Kernel_on_EVM

The way to boot Kernel images from CCS is alone mentioned, I want to boot the Kernel image from NAND Flash

Could you please explain how to boot Kernel image from NAND flash and the steps involved in doing that

Hi,

Refer to the following TI wiki page.

Try to boot the pre-built kernel and UBIFS fs from NAND.

Please do the following:

u-boot# setenv tftp_root <pre-built images location from tftpboot directory>
u-boot# run get_ubi_net
u-boot# run burn_ubi
u-boot # setenv boot ubi
u-boot # saveenv
u-boot # boot

Revert to me if any clarifications.

Thanks for your reply,

I referred that link and found out that they r flashing this file "keystone-evm-ubifs.ubi".
Actually what is this .ubi file does. Does this single file have the uImage, filesystem and dtb file.

Please clarify with this.

Hi,
Yes, it has 2 folders called "boot" and "rootfs"
Boot folder contains uImage and dtb file and rootfs folder contains rootfs components.
