BIOS task frequency

Hi,

I print out the CPU frequency is 1000MHz in EVMC6678. But the problem is, when I use BIOS, I realize the actual frequency is not same as the print information.

For example, I check the timestamp, it take 1.9E9 cycles. But I wait for the result for around 20s. I guess the actual frequency is only around 100MHz.

Is it because I am using debug mode and use JTAG to debug the code? Does anyone have a good idea on what happens there?

Hi,

Have you try to check the CPU frequency?I am not clear about your question, please provide more information.

Have you using TI provide EVM .gel file to initialize the EVM?
The EVM .gel file do the PLL and DDR3 initialization. If you not using .gel file means you need to configure the PLL on your example code. The main PLL stays in bypass mode for no-boot, SPI, and I2C boot. For other boot modes, a PLL initialization sequence executes inside the boot ROM to configure the main PLL in PLL mode.

Hi,

I use the gel file for EVM initializaiton.
And I use "BIOS_getCpuFreq(&cpuFreq);" to get the CPU frequency.
