AM335x Decoupling caps datasheet recommendation vs BBB

Hi,

the AM335x datasheet shows typical VDD_CORE decoupling of 1x 10pF and 8x 0.01pF. We found that the BeagelboneBlack BBB is using significantly more decoupling than this. Is there a particular reason why the BBB has so much decoupling?

Thanks,

This is incorrect. Recommended decoupling is 1x10uF and 8x10nF.You will see exactly this quantity of VDD_CORE decoupling on the AM335X GP EVM and Starter Kit. Of course more can placed if PCB space allows - this is up to the designer to decide.
