issues with installing sdk .bz2 file

Hi ,

I have been trying to install the sdk on my debian for omap l138 lcdk . But when I am trying to run the command

host $ tar jxf ~/Downloads/ti-sdk-omapl138-lcdk-xx.xx.xx.bz2
the following error shows up the following error shows up

host: couldn't get address for 'tar': not found

I copied the required content from the sd card provided along with the omap l138 lcdk. Please help me out. Thanks in advance

Hi lijo jacob,

Have you installed tar package to extract these files ?
If not, then
Install it using,
sudo apt-get install tar

After Installing tar, try your command.

I have the updated version of tar, I already tried that way

Hi Lijo,

At my end , i am using Ubuntu. So it is not possible for me to validate your issue.
As you are using command

tar jxf ~/Downloads/ti-sdk-omapl138-lcdk-xx.xx.xx.bz2

try with
tar -jxf ~/Downloads/ti-sdk-omapl138-lcdk-xx.xx.xx.bz2

Also check Debian wiki related to Tar command.
