CMEMK and CMEM error message on dm365

I have write an application about the decode and encode on dm365.
When I run the application, I got many error messages about the CMEMK and CMEM.
For examples:

CMEM Error: getPhys: Failed to get physical address of 0x1d500d06
CMEMK Error: get_phys: Unable to find phys addr for 0x60da0b17
CMEMK Error: get_phys: get_user_pages() failed: -14
CMEMK Error: GETPHYS: Failed to convert virtual 0x60da0b17 to physical.
CMEMK Error: get_phys: Unable to find phys addr for 0x60da0b1a

I don't know what these error messages mean,
and I have no idea about solving these errors.

Can anyone help me with these errors?
Or just tell me the what these error messages mean.

Hi Peter,

This means you have an invalid pointer being translated by CMEM. Which version of the DVSDK are you using? Did you start with the DVSDK demos or from scratch?

Hi Nuclas,

The DVSDK version I used is "dvsdk_2_10_01_18".
I started it with the sdk demos, I can run the demo program decode sucessfully.
"invalid pointer being translated by CMEM" is this means I give the null pointer or the different type of pointers to a function, or it is just means I didn't use the pointer in appropriate way.

By the way, can you also tell me what the CMEM do?

Hi Peter,

On dm365 CMEM is used to provide large physically contiguous buffers to the codec since the codec is using DMA and requires these types of buffers. Your error comes from passing an invalid pointer while invoking the codecs. The error message is from when CMEM is trying to translate the virtual pointer to a physical pointer, and in this case it fails. Please check your pointers.
