Issue creating custom platform

I'm trying to create a new Platform using CCS6.1. For the Device Family, my only option is the C2800. How can I fix this?

CCS6.1 ; GNU v4.8.4 ; SYS/BIOS 6.40.4.47 ; XDCTools 3.31.0.24

Is there a good guide on creating a new CCS project, using SYS/BIOS, for non TI dev boards (platforms)?

it seems that you attached some images to your post but I can't see them. They might contain some hints, so could you please try posting them again?
As for creating a new platform using the Platform Wizard, check Window->Preferences->Code Composer Studio->RTSC, and verify that SYS/BIOS 6.40.4.47 is checked there. It would be helpful if you can post a screenshot of that tab. Also, check the content of the file .log in the directory .metadata in your workspace. If the Platform Wizard failed while searching for other device families, there would be an exception in that file.

Once you create a new platform successfully, there is no much difference between using a TI platform package or the one you just created. You just need to add your new platform to the package path when building the project, and that's covered here: rtsc.eclipse.org/.../Demo_of_the_RTSC_Platform_Wizard_in_CCSv4

It's the RTSC item, one level up above Products, that has check boxes. That's what I wanted to see. Also, if the Platform Wizard encountered an exception while looking for device families, there would be a message in the file .log. That's why I need to see that too.

The SYS/BIOS box was not checked.
