Are there "Digital Signal Processing" libraries for TI DSP which are compliant with DO178B certification?

Hello,

We're working with TI DSP and we're developing digital signal processing software. Do you know if there are libraries which are compliant with DO-178B certification? For example, Reed Solomon or Interleaving blocks. Any help or suggestion will be very appreciated because we're stuck in this problem. We think that it is strange that TI DSP which are widely used in telecom sector don't have these type of libraries. So, Does someone know about some company that provide these type of libraries?

While TI does have DSP libraries (like DSPLIB) none of them are certified through DO-178B to my knowledge. There are a number of third parties out there that work on DO-178B certification, one I have suggested developers use in the past is Validated Software, though I have not worked with them personally, they do support TI DSPs and may be of some assistance.

Along the same lines, we have to certify to DO-178B, using a 6745 DSP. It seems to me that the RTSC software and architecture with the DSP/BIOS violates several DO-178B constructs. One of which is dynamic memory allocation.

Does anyone have knowledge or an opinon on this?

While I am not intimately familiar with DO-178B, I can say that in general if you need such strict certifications, you will probably have to use a software stack outside of the default TI package, in particular you probably cannot use BIOS (if dynamic memory allocation is not allowed, that would rule out the bulk of the TI software stack). The Validated Software third party mentioned above uses a different RTOS, they don't appear to allow for DO-178B with BIOS either.
