Question regarding installing UIA when using BIOS-MCSDK

Hi,

I am doing some examples following BIOS-MCSDK and TI-RTOS.

I am using 6678EVM and I installed BIOS-MCSDK instead of TI-RTOS as you recommended.

But MCSDK doesn't provide functional examples in detail using SYS/BIOS. So, I am wokring HWI, SWI and clock following TI-RTOS.

To use RTOS Analyzier, I think I need UIA.

As you recommended, installing UIA requires correct other packages,

The latest UIA rquires the following versions for other products,

But I installed BIOS-MCSDK and I have the following version for products,

XDCTool - 3.23.04.60

BIOS - 6.33.06.50

NDK - 2.21.02.43

IPC - 1.24.03.32

So, through CCS I tried to update my packages, I don't have updates.

How can I install UIA based on BIOS-MCSDK?

Thanks in advance.

Baeyoung

  • Hi Baeyoung,

You do need UIA to use RTOS Analyzer.  The MCSDK should come with UIA, from what I've read.  What version of the MCSDK are you using?

    Best regards,

  • Dear Janet,
    Thanks for your update.
I am using 2.01.02.06 MCSDK. I think this is the latest version.
When I checked installed packange, I couldn't find UIA.
    For TI-RTOS, UIA comes with.
I need your help to install UIA on MCSDK.
In Keystone forum, he recommend this forum is right place to ask about UIA^^
    Thanks in advance.

  • Hi Baeyoung,

It looks like UIA comes with MCSDK, but as part of MCSA (multi core system analyzer).  From what I read here:

MCSA is not installed by default due to compatibility issues with CCS 5.1.  You must be using CCS 6, so you only need UIA and not the DVT that comes with MCSA, so I would recommend installing UIA version 1.01.04.27 from here:

This is an old version of UIA, but you are using an old version of the MCSDK which needs that UIA version.  RTOS Analyzer should still work with that version, but may give some warnings.

    Best regards,
