Suggestion of boards for multi beam signal processing

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320C6678, 66AK2H12

Dear Friends,

I have started to study on radar  where i had to work on signal processing portion.  i have to process 32beams received after beam forming in my project. So i'm looking for a board which can support SIGNAL PROCESSING OF THIS MANY BEAMS. I have seen a pcb 'DSP 8901' which  has 20 TMS320C6678 DSP's onboard. But i require a industrial grade pcb. Please suggest me with latest processor & FPGA board which will suite my requirement.

Thank you in advance.

  • Hi Madesh,

Welcome to the TI E2E forum. I hope you will find many good answers here and in the TI.com documents and in the TI Wiki Pages (for processor issues). Be sure to search those for helpful information and to browse for the questions others may have asked on similar topics (e2e.ti.com). Please read all the links below my signature.

We will get back to you on the above query shortly. Thank you for your patience.

  • Madesh,

The board that you are referring to that contains 20 C6678 devices is built by our 3rd party partner Advantech.  This board is an ATCA compatible board.  The ATCA platform definition is meant for industrial use.  They also have a board containing 4 C6678 devices that plugs into an ATX computer backplane for control and data flow over PCIe.  Multiple boards can be installed in a single chassis.  They also have boards with 8 C6678 devices and boards containing 66AK2H12 devices which merges both ARM and DSP procesing.  If you have a specific board design need, I am sure that Advantech or one of our other partners would be glad to design and produce it for you.  You can learn more about them at: http://www.advantech.com/.  Please let us know if you need more information.
