Headphone audio jack connection issue

I am running the audio filter demo on the VC5505 eZdsp.  When I plug in a headphone completely to the HP OUT jack I only get mono (Lt out).  If I pull the connector out of the jack about 1/8 inch, then I get stereo.  I am using AA handout headphone with standard 3.5mm connector.  Works fine for PC out.  Only with eZdsp stick do I see a problem.  Has anyone else experienced this?  Any suggestions on what might be causing this?

Thanks.

  • Hi,

I experienced the same behavior, in my case I believe the input socket is at fault.  I modified the code to copy the right input channel to both the left and right output buffers and it worked fine, if I did the same for the left input channel, no sound was audible, which leads me to believe that the input socket is faulty.  I still need to put a signal generator on the individual channels to verify this.
