Hi,

I'm trying to use the ETM interface of OMAP3530 together with Trace tool (Lauterbach) for profiling. I've gotten things to work, only problem is the slow clock with which the ETM port is driven (apparently 6 MHz at the moment).

I tried to increase the clock responsible for the port by changing dividers/clock sources in the CM_CLKSEL1_EMU register, but my linux or the jtag connection crashes on most of them. Can somebody give me a hint of why this is and what to do to successfully increase the clock for tracing?

Hi,

We could successfully change the trace clock frequency by writing to CM_CLKSEL1_EMU. In the datasheet of OMAP3530, it is mentioned that maximum supported etk_clk frequency is 166MHz, but we are getting 200MHz clock.

Can somebody explain why this is happening?

Hello,

I'm trying to use the ETM trace of an OMAP3530 on an EVM board, but I'm facing a clock issue. The ETK_CLK is not active even if all seems ok:

> ETK_CLK pad is correctly configured in mode_0.

> EMU_CORE_ALWON_CLK is active (this is the clk selected for TRACEFCLK).

Has anyone an idea about something else to check?

Hello Nicolas,

Your settings are correct but could you check the value of the CM_CLKSEL1_EMU register and also the other registers described in the TRM section 3.7.1.12 EMU_CM Registers. Also the linked ARM document Embedded Trace Macrocell should be useful for investigating the issue.
