Beaglebone (sitara kit) with starterware

Hi!

Iam currently trying to find out how to get working startwerware demo programs on beaglebone (white). I need to use that board without OS. So fat i have followed this video instructions, but problem is that the instructions are for BBB and i have BB white. At one moment when starterware drivers and libs are built, the guy in video shows that its necessary to push button to prevent os from loading, but my BBW doesnt have such button. I have only reset button on the board.

How can i achieve my goal - run demo apps from starterware without OS. I would be grateful for any advices or some fine information source from where i could study.

I enclose some snapshots to make whole thing clear.

Hi Jan,

Have you tried to test the jtag connection. If it is not rellated with it I see from your screenshot that you have multiple beaglebone instances, have you concidered using one of them? Because the issue looks like when you select the incorrect device.

Thanks for your fast answer!
I have tried this setup only by trying to "debug" that example project .. that "LEDblinking". Is there any way (tool) how to test or even diagnose JTAG? Sorry for stupid questions, iam pretty new to this (CCS, sitara, Beagle).

Ill start with trying the other BB instances options

EDIT1: I've tried other beagle options in Target configuration, and result is approximately the same. Here i enclose snaps:

So far i have been doing target settings in "general" target settings menu (i mean not directly in projects properties). Now i have setup information about target and debugger directly in the project properties menu and i've tried to debug .. no error, but it desnt seems like the code was downloaded to target ... target still does its default blinking (that is default implemented there with os).

What am i missing?

Jan,

Unfortunately I don't have a BB white board to simulate your observations. I have a feeling its something driver related. Did you take a look at this document?

beagleboard.org/.../README.htm

It has references to BB white despite it being primarily geared for BB black. Also noticed this video where the user walks through the steps on getting setup with the BBW board and CCS. Please take a look to see if it helps in resolving your connection issues.

Hi Lali,

finally i found one colleague who has worked with BB white before and we succeeded to connect to target and download binary to it. Problem was only between keyboard and chair (Me). I hope i find out soon how to debug my code also with "debug" button.
