udev Rules File not working for USB Remove option

HI Experts,

I am using udev rules file to detect the USB device arrival and it is working fine.

When the device is removed I am not able to compare my VID and PID since the device is removed.

Is there any standard parameters to detect the removal of the USB device ?

Run "udevadm monitor --udev --property" to see what event properties you can use.

You can also use the same udev rules to detect the USB removal too with "REMOVE" option .
Ex:

ACTION=="remove", ENV{DEVTYPE}=="usb_device", ENV{ID_VENDOR_ID}=="046d", ENV{ID_MODEL_ID}=="c51a", RUN+="/home/user/usb_remove_script"

Have you tried it ??

Its not working for me whereas the Add event works because once the device is removed the VID/PID wil removed from the lists.

Generally I never suggest which I never tried :-)

Already I have worked with udev scripts for usb/SD detection and removal.

Today also I have tried and able to work.
It worked flawlessly.

Here you go:

cat /etc/udev/rules.d

# Titus : USB DETECTION and REMOVAL
ACTION=="add", SUBSYSTEM=="usb", ENV{ID_VENDOR_ID}=="03f0", ENV{ID_MODEL_ID}=="2340", RUN+="/etc/udev/scripts/usb_add.sh"
ACTION=="remove", SUBSYSTEM=="usb", ENV{ID_VENDOR_ID}=="03f0", ENV{ID_MODEL_ID}=="2340", RUN+="/etc/udev/scripts/usb_remove.sh"

cat /etc/udev/scripts/usb_add.sh

#!/bin/sh
mkdir /usb_add

cat /etc/udev/scripts/usb_remove.sh
#!/bin/sh
mkdir /usb_remove

Yes, you are right, it remove the PID and VID from the list but udev would find the detection/removal when the remove/add interrupt get detected.

Thanks for the reply.

I had used attr{} instead of ENV{} in the rules files.

Thats why it doesn't seems to be working. Now I changed and working fine.
