What does the difference between SRAM and Cache?

Hello everyone

For the C66 DSP memory architecture, according to the user manual, it said that "Both L1P and L1D can be configured into SRAM and cache.", and "Level 2 memory is also configurable and can be split into L2 SRAM and cache". My question is what the "SRAM" and "cache" reference as here? What are the differences between them? My understanding is SRAM is a high speed memory. It can be used as high speed cache for CPU. So I am confusing that why L1P, L1D, and L2 can be configured as SRAM and Cache. Are they the same?

Thanks.
