AM437X IDK Problem

I'm facing the following problem when trying to use the following functions:

1 ) memset
2 ) pbuf_realloc
3 ) mem_malloc()

the following error appear :

Can't find a source file at "/db/ztree/library/trees/xdctargets/xdctargets-h32x/src/gnu/targets/arm/rtsv7A/syscalls.c"
Locate the file or edit the source lookup path to include its location.

Please post what processor and software version you are using?

The processor is am437x and the kit is IDK and software is code composer studio.

Hi Biser
This is Dr Fahmy x TI sugerland TX and one of the designer of TMS3200... Mostafa is on my team. This is the first time to get such answer for TI debug issue. I will wait another 48 hours before giving the issues reported by mostafa a red flag inside TI Texas. Non of the problems reported by him or his team are being solved.
I m in Sydney Australia and will get in touch with TI office in Texas end of this week, if all problems stayed as unsolved

Hi Mahmoud,

ISDK is supported by a different team. All I can do is alert them that there is a post for them on the forum. I cannot influence when/how they will answer. If you can get in touch with somebody in TI to accelerate, you are welcome, because I don't have any direct contacts to the ISDK team on my escalation list. I am simply contacting people who have answered ISDK issues on the forum.

Hi Mostafa,

I am not an expert on Industrial SDK, but the compiler basically says it cannot find syscalls.c in the include paths.
Have you tried pointing CCS to the path, where syscalls.c is located?
See similar CCS issues with compilation:
e2e.ti.com/.../390544
e2e.ti.com/.../539904

Or maybe you're seeing this error, because somewhere in your code the included syscall header is not in the directory referred to in the #include directive.

We are pretty sure that we have included the correct path for required .h files ,because this error appears in the runtime not in compilation time. And syscall.c is an infinite loop entered when trying to reach non available rescourse .

Mostafa,

such messages usually appear in CCS if you are debugging a lib that was built by someone else. The paths in debug info are just different than on your machine. There is usually a button on screen (view file) that you can use to locate the source file. Then the debugger can show the file.
Basic CCS stuff and not related to IA-SDK at all...

Hi Mostafa

The problem that you may be encountering is that something may be missing in the project definition.  
There is an example project which uses memset that can be used as a reference. 
It is the am437x_sysbios_ind_sdk_2.0.0.2 motor control example. The memset is in foc.c.  
 <Installation Directory> \am437x_sysbios_ind_sdk_2.0.0.2\sdk\examples\motor_control.

To address your specific question. The am437x_sysbios_ind_sdk_2.0.0.2 uses the gnu v4.7.4 (Linaro) compiler. 
The release is GCC ARM Embedded 4.7-2012-q4. 
This compiler package does not contain the libc source code.
However I was able to find the source on launchpad.net/.../4.7-2012-q4-major.
