I want assess the startup time on the board AM1808 EVM for two possible configuration nand and nor flash.

I need the software embedded for Zoom™ AM1808 EVM :

x-loader.bin, u-boot.bin, uImage.bin for nand flash

x-loader.bin, u-boot.bin, uImage.bin for nor flash

If these bin files not exist, how will I generate these files ?

You can contact LogiPD EVM to get their SDK with binaries.
Also you can use our TI SDK from the following link.

software-dl.ti.com/.../index_FDS.html

I have installed SDK, in "prebuilt-images" directory there are "UBL_AM1808_MMC.bin" file.

How must I set the switch on the AM1808 board for start the board from MMC ?

How can create "UBL_AM1808_NOR.bin" and "UBL_AM1808_NAND.bin" files ?

Please refer to the AM1808 LogicPD EVM user guide.
What is your SDK version ?
If you have SDK source, then you can build it for NAND and NOR.

I found the files in "/ti-sdk-am180x-evm-06.00.00.00/host-tools/flash_utils/OMAP-L138_FlashAndBootUtils_2_31/OMAP-L138/GNU/ubl"

You should check the images (ubl,u-boot etc.,) in "images" or "pre-built" folder under SDK folder.

Hi, I have checked the NAND and it works. After I have checked the NOR but it not work : no character out on serial port !!!!
I use the sfh_OMAP-L138.exe for write the flash and the configuration of switch on the board are s5=on,s6=off,s7=off,s8=off for NAND and s5=on,s6=on,s7=on,s8=off for NOR. Where is my error ?

Hi,
Have you modified the u-boot config file for NOR booting ?
You need to enable NOR flash support in u-boot.

Hi,

I am not rebulid u-boot, but with mi Luterbach emulator I have loaded "ubl_AM1808_NOR.out" in 0x80000000 and it work well , the output is:

This application search the magic number in NOR , load u-boot fron NOR to DDR and it works.

Why the rom omap boot code not copy the NOR flash in internal ram (0x80000000) ? Perhaps the NOR code must run in flash ? Infact the first 32 bit of the NOR is 0x20732520 (lenght = 3 kbyte , 01(metod)=run in NOR, access 0 = 8 bit).....the file ubl_AM1808_NOR.out and ubl_AM1808_NOR.bin are two product e not do the same thing ? I thing there is an problem on first 32 bit of NOR flash , are you agree ?

In my SDK there is UBL_NOR.map file , in the sections of compiled ubl there aren't the first nor configuration word how in sprab41e.pdf par 3.1.
Why is different ?
Have I an old document version ?Can you help me to generate a correct ubl NOR file ?

Hi,
I hope, UBL code will be in CCS project, so you have to import the project into CCS and need to change the predefined variable to configure for SPI/NAND/NOR flash devices.
