How to add SD card support to Linux kernel 3.14

Hello,

I have the latest BBLack Linux-3.14 from TI.

The kernel appears to support SD card : MMC/SD/SDIO, but I cannot see the card from PC, even the sharing Ethernet USB working fine.

So, I tried to enable "Secure Digital Host Controller Interface support" under the same section MMC/SD/SDIO

It doesn't help either.

So, I'm wondering if it comes from Device Tree ?

What should I do with kernel or device-tree ?

Hi,
Is it detecting in u-boot ?
Are you get any messages while you inserting SD card into board ?
Please make sure that SD card is in working condition.
If its TI SDK then I hope, SD card support will be enabled by default.

Hello,

The module g_multi does require argument to mount partition.
I just did

modprobe file=/dev/mmcblk0p1

and it works for me. There must be more options but not sure if required!?!? I'm afraid the more to add, the more conflict !?!?

Hi,
It seems to be you have enabled the MMC/SD driver as module and inserting the drier in demand.
Also it looks like mass storage gadget driver.
Typically we do this for mass storage gadget driver.

Not really.
This is not under MMC/SD, but under USB Gadget/Composite : (1) Ethernet (2) CDC Serial (3) Storage,
Once it runs properly, we can use its 3 functions at the same time
(1) Ethernet in private net
(2) Serial Comm port, cannot used as debug port though
(3) Storage disk drive
