COMPACT FLASH ACCESS ISSUE IN DM6446EVM

Hi,

1. we are trying to access compact flash in DM6446EVM board. First we tried reading device id using Spectrum digital inc example code. we are able to see console messages attached below.

Here we used SANDISK ULTRA II 4GB compact flash . Actual device id of the device is 848A. But we are able to read only MSB 84 , LSB bit 8A is not able to read.

2. Then we tried instruction given in Spectrum digital inc dm6446 technical reference manual page number 2-3, point 2.1.4 compact flash interface, mentioned below..

by making selection of U35 bit P5 we tried accessing compact flash. but we got only compact flash is detected like CD1 CD2 found..

3. What could be the problem? what are all the steps to be followed to make it work . Example Memory Test for the Regions.. Address test, pattern test etc.. please guide me.

Where did you download this code ?
Could you give the link to download.
Is it released by TI or 3rd party ?

We need to look into code that whether they have written for pattern testing or simply flash detect etc.,
FYI : CF devices is pin multiplexed with NAND/NOR flashes (EMIFA).

You can debug the code for where it is failing etc.,

Hi,

i have downloaded this example code from spectrum digital inc website, the link mentioned below
c6000.spectrumdigital.com/.../davincievm.zip

it is released by spectrum digital inc with evaluation module dm6446.

i have tried to debug the code and it is returning the wrong values as said in previous post.

End of the day finally i will be utilizing the CF to store the video files captured through EVM6446 Evaluation board.
