Gstreamer pipeline to loopback composite input to HDMI output

hi all

i work in dm816x evaluation module using ezsdk 5_04_00_11 & gstreamer 0.1

and after installing the tvp5147 module for composite input and take it as subdevice for ti81xxvin module i get the following when reboot:

Note: I soldered pin 40 of the tvp5147 to j16 pin 109.

i have two question:

1. there are any modification in saLoopBack application to capture video from composite input?

2. what is the gstreamer pipeline to capture video PAL camera from composite input and loopback to HDMI output?

I try the following  but I get errors:

    You shall add add external decoder follow this user guide:

    I would recommend you first to try with saloopback demo.

    There is no demo for composite input, since you added the external decoder you shall make changes in the saloopback demo like : CAPTURE_DEVICE, add case for PAL, etc.

    refer to saLoopBack.c source file.

    As I said, it would be better first to run the saloopback demo which is using v4l2 capture driver before to run the gstreamer pipeline.

    These pipeline do not seems correct at least there is no property input-src in the v4l2src.

    The pipeline should be something like:

    or for sink element you could use v4l2sink not omx_videosink.

    The dm814x_hdvpss_v4l2.xem3 firmware shall be load not dm814x_hdvpss.xem3.

    thanks for your quick answer

    I want to make the following:

    composite input (PAL) -> h264 encoder -> transmit using RTSP (UDP protocol) -> receive packets using other ethernet connector in EVM -> h264 decoder -> composite output and display to HDMI LCD

    so as i think saLoopBack demo can't transmit over ethernet ,so is it better and faster to use gstreamer directly, and why you recommend to first run the saloopback demo?

    As I said, I would recommend you first to try with saloopback demo to verify is your implementation of tvp5147 is working.

  • hello, I have 2 questions:

    1. In the TI81XX PSP VPSS Video Driver User Guide I find the following sentence: "v4L2 capture streaming is supported only on /dev/video0 node with TVP7002 as decoder"  is it mean that I can't streaming data from composite in(tvp5147)  to  HDMI output

    2. how I can know if /dev/video6 is the composite input capture node.
