EVMK2H Not working

Hello

I bought  EVMK2H 8 set. and I tested ARM SPI boot. (DIP Switch is OFF OFF ON OFF).

but 6 Set are not working in the 8 SET.

LCD panel displayed "SOC Power Failure" and Serial Console not displayed.

EVMK2H REV is 4.0 and BMC version 1.0.2.6

Regards

  • Have you followed the know issues and work arounds document available on advantech website?
Does it help to solve issue?
  • Hello

    I read EVMK2HX_Rev4_0_Known_Issue.pdf. and I checked EVMH2K.

The PDF file figured adding 1K ohm at C124. (I followed 4.3 "SoC PWR sop on Power-up")

The EVMk2h board already fixed it. C124 had 1K ohm. but Boards had Power problem still.

    Have you another workaround??

    Regards.
  • Hi,

What is your BMC version from BMC console? If it is not the latest, v1.0.2.5, please upgrade it by following the steps in "UCD Power Management Modules In-Field Update" at the EVMK2H Hardware Setup link in Getting Started Chapter of the Keystone-2 User's Guide.
    processors.wiki.ti.com/.../EVMK2H_Hardware_Setup

If all the known issue workarounds are implemented and all the software versions are latest, there should be some issue in the board hardware. Since the EVM is new one, we don't want you to debug the hardware in the board as it voids the EVM warranty. It seems like a lot issue in the EVM boards.

I would suggest you to contact them for the replacement again. We are supporting for device and EVM related issues as well; but in your case, the board is not powering up properly for the first time itself. So you may need to ask for distributor support on this.

Meanwhile could you please answer below questions.

Is the 1K resistor on location C124 not populated when you get this board?

Could you please check whether input voltage is stable?

    Thanks,

  • Hi

I said "BMC version is 1.0.2.6 and EVM Version 4.0" and C124 1Kohm located on the board when I bought.

I bought a board several day ago. and I received a board last week.

I think the board I have one the new version.

    Thanks
  • Hello Shin,

Then there should be some hardware issue in the board. In this case, i would suggest you to ask for replacement from where you bought this board.
