OTG_CTRL.IDPULLUP status does not have effect on the USB ID pin changes.

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS65930, DM3730

Hi,

I am working on custom board(DM3730 + TPS65930 VARICITE DM3730) which has Gingerbread (kernel-2.6.37) OS flashed. From the TPS65930 TRM, OTG_CTRL.IDPULLUP register bit will control the USB ID sampling. On my board USB ID pin is high i.e OTG controller is acting as peripheral,  OTG_CTRL.IDPULLUP   value is "0", so any changes on the USB ID pin should not listen, but if i change the USB ID pin  to low and connected the mouse to the OTG port. OTG is acting as host , mouse is detected even though the OTG_CTRL.IDPULLUP value is "0", but USB ID changes will be effected only if the OTG_CTRL.IDPULLUP bit value is "1".  Can anybody explain the effect of the OTG_CTRL.IDPULLUP bit on the OTG functionality.

BR,

Kishore
