Hello,

In my OMAPL138 application I'm planning to use ~3MB SharedRegion between SYS/BIOS and Linux applications. Region will be divided to approx. 10 individual memory areas, linear streaming buffers, ring buffers etc. . I need to protect these 10 areas with individual semaphores, not covering the other areas: if area 5 is used by Linux, the others should be available for DSP.

Do I need to define as many SharedRegions I have areas or can I protect areas individually inside a single SharedRegion?

I would appreciate if you could provide me an example. I'm using SysLink 2.21.01.05 and IPC 1.25.03.15.

You can use a different GateMP instance for each area in the shared region you want to synchronize.

You can create a GateMP instance to protect "whatever you want". GateMP_create() on one side, GateMP_open() on the other, then GateMP_enter()/exit() on either side as you need to serialize access.
