Issue with Ethernet interface ping

hi,

We are facing an issue with Ethernet connections on AM335x board.

Both interfaces are connected to one switch with eth0 is 192.168.1.xx and eth1 is 192.168.2.xx.

But after booting the board we are unable to ping from AM335x board to PC.
Here first we need to unplug and plug the eth1 interface Ethernet wire, then only we can ping.

Hi Sankar,

When the AM335X CPSW is configured in Dual MAC mode the two Ethernet ports must be connected to different network segments.

Hello Biser,

Thanks for information, But we are able to use the same CPSW in Device Tree (Linux-3.12.30).
We are passing the "dual_emac" in platform data, and my requirement is working good with same network segment.

In Linux-3.2, I enabled the "CONFIG_TI_CPSW_DUAL_EMAC" option in kernel config, Now I am unable to use the same network segment.

Where I am missing to get work with Linux-3.2 also.

Please help to find the problem, Project dead lines are very near.

Hello Biser,

But same scenario working perfect on linux-3.12.30.

can you please tell me any changes needed in linux-3.2 work same as a linux-3.12.30.

That patch is related to kernel-3.12,once we manually added patch to kernel-3.2 issue is not solved.

please can you tell me how to solve this issue in kernel-3.2.

Hi Sankar,

I fear I cannot help further. I had a problem, when using both interfaces with one switch and this commit fixed the problem. We're not using kernel 3.2, but 3.18.x and 4.2.x. Why do you still stick to 3.2?
