Sorry if this has been posted somewhere, but I can't seem to find the information anywhere. I'm a relative newbie and am having a hard time booting up the demo provided in the Evaluation Kit for the AM335x (TMDXEVM3358). I followed the instructions on the quick start guide, and also checked online for erratas, but when I power on the board nothing displays on the LCD. Unfortunately I don't have a Serial to USB converter, but I'm assuming something would show up on the LCD? When I plug in the SD Card into the desktop, I do see the three volumes: boot, rootfs, and start_here. However, there seems to be a lot of references to BeagleBone and not so much the AM335x EVM.

I'm wondering if the SD Card that was shipped with the EVM is correct for this TMDXEVM3358 evaluation kit?

If not, where can I download a demo image for the TMDXEVM3358 board? I want to make sure the board is working and did not come dead-on-arrival.

Also I'm running Linux. I see the link processors.wiki.ti.com/.../Processor_SDK_Linux_create_SD_card_script however it seems like I need to download the entire SDK? Also is the default image compatible with all the various AM335x evaluation boards (EVM, Starter Kit and BeagleBone Black)? Or is there specific images tailored to each evaluation board?

For those like me who received a corrupted SD Card with the Evaluation Kit, the quickest way to run the demo image is to download the image from:
software-dl.ti.com/.../am335x-evm-01.00.00.03.img.zip

On Mac OSX, to flash to SD Card, run the following as root
> pv am335x-evm-01.00.00.03.img | dd of=/dev/disk4

It took about an hour on my machine to flash the image to the SD Card.

I had the same problem -- 3 dev kits brand new from TI were not working. Making a new SD card from this image solved the issue. Thank you.

I too had the same problem on 2 evm boards. Not a good start. TI support referred me to the forums for help. After googling the error message from the console, I learned how to reprogram the ID eeprom. However that did not solve my problem. So I assumed that the kit included the wrong SD image, just like the OP mentioned. This is how I found this posting. Downloading the image from Biser's post's link made it all work.

Just so that the next guy who's googling it, gets to this post, here is the error I got:
