[C5535] Confirm whether there is any problem to power on the USB1.3V domain during RTC-only mode.

Hi community member,

Please let me confirm the following question just in case.

[Question]

Is there any problem to power on the USB1.3V domain during RTC-only mode?

[Background]
Now my customer think that provide 1.3V to the USB_VDD1P3 and USB_VDD1P3 by external LDO. So, their system keep to provide those power even though the system is in RTC-only mode. In my understanding, this is not problem for device except for increasing the power consumption because datasheet shows this as below.

>> All other power domains can be totally shut down when using RTC-only mode.

This is not said that all power domains "MUST" be total shut down when using RTC-only mode.

If you have any questions, please let me know.
Best regards.

VK : Yes this can be done.

All other power domains can be totally shut down when using RTC-only mode. This is not said that all power domains "MUST" be total shut down when using RTC-only mode.

VK: Yes understand thie above, I was looking this from Isolation point of view and also I had not found enough data on this scenario, as this was meant to acheive the lowest power and all power domains were supposed to be shutoff. But as mentioned above, USB 1.3v can be on.

    Hope this clarifies.

  • Hi Vasanth,

    Thank you for clarifying.
I could understand them and inform them to my customer.

    Best regards.
