TMS320VC5502...Part Markings / Errata

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320VC5501

I just wanted to clarify the part marking I have on my chip....  in the errata revision L it mentions that there will be two spaces reserved for the boot loader revision and the device revision and there will be a alpha number as well.   the markin on my part is CA-   Does this mean that the aplha number is blank and the bootloader version code is C and the device revision is A?   The errata doesn't seem to apply to the part if this is the cases?

  • Hi,

What is the exact part number on your device ?

If its blank then its initial bootloader version, otherwise it would be the respective version number. Your reading looks right to me.

  • TMS320VC5502PGF300     Your answer confuses me.....is the errata valid for the part I have?

  • This is what I meant, Though the errata doesn't specifically mention about C & A versions for bootloader & device, but it does mention how these fields needs to be interpreted.

Further In the comments section of Table 3 in errata it states - Refer to the application report titled Using the TMS320VC5501/C5502 Bootloader (literature number for more information on the differences between bootloader versions. The latest C5502 bootloader literature version is C

So I believe this is applicable for your part too.

    Hope this clarifies.

    Regards
