Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OMAP-L138, DA8XX, PMP, OMAPL138

Hi,

I am trying to boot OMAP L138 LCDK.I boot it a few times,but now i am having a message;

messages and then it stops.

Can you help me on this?

Thanks,

Serhat Ağırbaş

  • Hi,

    We are working on it and will get back to you shortly.

    Thanks & regards,

  • Hi,
    What boot mode are you using ?
    Did you change anything in filesystem ?
    Able to reproduce it again ?

    Reflash the filesystem, this issue won't come.
  • Hi,

    Nand boot mode as default in quick start guide(OFF,ON,ON,ON).
    Nothing changed,first start was succesful but then it stuck.
    No i just inserted microSD and used.
    As I see there is no problem with u-boot in nand.Here my log;

  • Hi,
    Can you reflash the filesystem and check ?
  • Hi,

    You can refer below mentioned wiki to flash on different flash memories and setting proper u-boot bootargs .

    http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Booting_Linux_kernel_using_U-Boot#Booting

  • Hi,

    U-boot looks fine.I want to reflash my sdcard.Is there any link or document to just reflash SD card and using same NAND for U-boot?

    Thanks,

    Serhat Ağırbaş

  • Hi,
    Please refer to the following E2E post.
    e2e.ti.com/.../1141455
  • Hi,

    I applied your first post but then i get ERROR:cant get kernel image error.Then i also tried to apply yourother post;

    *) You have to copy the kernel image (use pre-built) and boot script into 1st partition of SD card

    *) You need to have a fileystem on 2nd partition of SD card.

    Please follow the procedures.

    1) Copy the pre-built kernel image into 1st partition of the SD card

    Ex:
    titus@titus-desktop:~/workdir/ti-e2e/OMAPL138_LCDK/ti-sdk-omapl138-lcdk-01.00.00/board-support/prebuilt-images# cp -rf uImage /media/boot/

    2) Copy the "boot.scr" file into 1st partition of the SD card

    5531.boot_scr.txt

    Note:

    Rename "5531.boot_scr.txt" to "boot.scr"

    Ex:

    titus@titus-desktop:~/workdir/ti-e2e/OMAPL138_LCDK/ti-sdk-omapl138-lcdk-01.00.00/board-support/prebuilt-images# cp -rf /home/titus/Downloads/boot.scr /media/boot/

    3) Untar the filesystem contents into 2nd partition of the SD card from the TI release OMAPL138 LCDk linux SDK

    Ex:
    i) cd /media/rootfs

    ii) root@titus:/media/rootfs# tar -zxvf /root/workdir/ti-e2e/OMAPL138_LCDK/ti-sdk-omapl138-lcdk-01.00.00/filesystem/omapl138-lcdk-fs.tar.gz .

    Note:
    1) It will take few menites to complete

    2) Do not forget to put "." in tart command to mention current dir.

    iii) cd /

    iv) sync

    4) Unmount the SD card (safe remove from the system)

    5) Connect the SD card into board and set boot witch to SD boot mode and switch ON.

    But now I am having such an error;

    NAND: 512 MiB

  • Hi,
    Connect your SD card to Linux PC and check that whether filesystem content present in SD card's 2nd partition.
    Please make sure that you have copied the filesystem correctly without any errors.
