I am not aware of a method (from user space) for controlling the volume level with CS4344 with software, without having the alsa settings (amixer settings).

If you have the full CS4344 datasheet, you could write custom firmware to control the registers responsible for manipulating signal levels (if there are any).

The HDMI transmitter is not a Codec, it simply converts input video/audio to HDMI format and transmits it over the HDMI interface.

That means in the BBB board(without audio codec) volume control is impossible?
