USB disk boot failed on K2H evm rev4.

Hi all,

I have made a usb disk to boot k2h. It boot well On rev1.1 evm . But failed on Rev4 evm. it can't find the usb disk like below:

TCI6638 EVM # usb start
(Re)start USB...
USB0: No power optimization available
Register 2001040 NbrPorts 2
Starting the controller
USB XHCI 1.00
scanning bus 0 for devices... 1 USB Device(s) found
scanning usb for storage devices... 0 Storage Device(s) found

I have check the schematic, rev1.1 and 4 have different on USBDRVVBUS_R design.

This is rev 1.1 evm

This is rev4

And under linux both rev1.1 and rev4 usb can work well. it seems uboot should do some modification for rev4 to use USBDRVVBUS_R pin and enable usb power for usb disk.

Could you help to double confirm? and Do we have any resolve method?

Hello Denny,

Could you please check the USB_VBUS when you are not able to boot on Rev 4.0 EVM for 5V availability ?

Hi Denny,

Please refer below thread for similar issue and solution on rev4 K2H EVM.

And under linux both rev1.1 and rev4 usb can work well. it seems uboot should do some modification for rev4 to use USBDRVVBUS_R pin and enable usb power for usb disk.

Make sure to use the binaries of uboot and kernel image from latest MCSDK 3.x.(3.1.3.6).
