I'm going through the PRU "Hands-on Labs", and have a problem in Lab 4.

I've successfully done all the stages up to and including "Boot the new Kernel and FS on the Target".

However, I now can't log-in using ssh from my Linux desktop -- there's no response.

Is this supposed to happen? How can I run those commands on the BeagleBone Black?

I should add, I'm connecting using Ethernet, through a switch.
It works fine when running the normal BBB OS from the eMMC.

These labs expect that you connect to the desktop via serial console. A 3.3V FTDI cable is needed for this purpose: www.ftdichip.com/.../USBTTLSerial.htm

How do you fit it under the PRUCAPE, though?

Guess you have to move the header to the other side of the board.

I bent the connector -- works fine.
