PCie TX,RX pair resistance.

I am using evmk2h with an amc2pcie adapter. EVMK2H is acting as root complex and a xilinx virtex 7 board is acting as endpoint. When I measured the resistance between B14-B15 of PCIe finger on amc2pcie adapter mounted on EVMK2H, it gives me value of 4.6 mega ohms. while resistance between B14-B15 of virtex 7 is 150 ohm. What effect that difference can cause? While I check specs of PCIe it shows both resistances are same. But I couldn't find any reason.

  • Hi Rao,

I don't have any information on the amc2pcie adapter that you are using so I am not completely sure what B14-15 are connected to on the EVM or on the virtex board. The PCIE elecromechanical spec defines these as the transmit pins which are AC coupled on the EVM.
