TMS320VC5510 DSK - CCS 5.5/ CCS 6.1: No source available for LOG_printf

Hello,

I have got a Spectrum Digital TMS320VC5510 DSK which I am trying to use with Code Composer Studio 5.5 or 6.1.

Using Spectrum Digital DSK-EVM-eZdsp onboard USB Emulator, I want to test the DSP/BIOS Hello example (the regular hello example works fine).

However when I start the program which is loaded in the platform and step into the function LOG_printf, I get the "No source available for LOG_printf" error even though the disassembly window shows that the program pointer points to a correct location. See the following picture.

The picture shows the error for CCS v5.5 but I get the same error with CCS 6.1.

Thereafter it looks like the communication with the board is lost and I have to restart the debug session.

Can you help me on this?

Vincent,

CCS does not have access to the source for the LOG_Printf. It is a library function that gets included in the project compilation. CCS did not lose communications with the board. Did you see "Hello World" print on the console?

Do you mean that it is normal that I get this error since it is included in a library?

I can't see the "Hello World" in the console, this is the reason why I suspected that CCS lost communication with the board.

Any idea why "Hello World" does not print on the console?

I can only see the message "TSK: ready TSK_idle (0xfca)"

I can see the message printed if I click on Trace. I clicked LOG_system before.
Problem solved.
