I'd like to know about General Purpose X Registers. How does the registers use?

The GPRn registers could be used by the user for generic/additional information.

Thanks for the reply. What is the generic/additional information? I can't find the information in PCI express base specification revision 2.1. Do I need to use GPRx registers?

Hi,

User can use this GPRx for unique identification/reference between two devices. It is user defined.

For example, EP can read and write the GPRx registers on the RC PCIESS and pass the user specific information.
